ALL ABOUT US
Westdach is a Miniature Longhair Dachshund breeder based in Black Diamond, Alberta where we have 100 acres for the dogs to run around. We have been breeding dachshunds since 2019, with a focus on quality health tested dogs producing beautiful puppies and making the transition from our loving home to yours as easy as possible. All our dogs are first and formost beloved companions taking up space on our couches and beds. We strive to breed the healthiest and best representative of the breed standard as we can for the show ring and pet home, educate their new owners on the breed and ensure these precious puppies get the love, care and attention they deserve the rest of thier lives.
NEED TO KNOW SECTION
Westdach prides ourselves on breeding the most genetically healthy dogs possible to create the best outcome for both the show ring and pet homes. We are Canadian Kennel Club members in good standing and strive to create the best of the breed standard as possible. We are active and members in good standing in our local breed club the Alberta Dachshund Club. We also believe strongly in genetic testing and always encourage new comers to do thier research and ask questions.

At Westdach Miniature Longhair Dachshunds, we have taken something which started as 1 small dog and turned it into a very passionate and successful breeding program. We breed our dogs to have friendly dispositions, fit in seamlessly as incredible family pets, perform in the conformation ring and in the field hunting as they were bred to do.

Phineas is our pride and joy! He came to us from Russia where he started his show career and finished in Canada quickly moving on to completing his Grand Championship and is now working on his Bronze all within a year of showing here! He has an inquisitive, adventurous, and loving personality, is a confident guy and always ready for adventure. We can't wait to see what he brings to our program in the future. He has completed his Shed Dog L1, Trail Locate L1 and Urban Locate L1 titles with NASDA this past year as well. We are so proud of this guy and all his achievements!

Our first boy! Ether came to us from South Africa, he is a beautiful longhair shaded cream. He loves to cuddle, play with the new babies and run around our acreage. He is KUSA and CKC registered. PRA clear. Patellas Normal.

At Westdach, we truly believe our planned breeding methods are second-to-none. Our selection of females is unrivaled, with a variety of pedigrees containing European, American & Canadian lines, different ages and dispositions. Natural hunting instincts. From calm and cuddly to energized and playful, girls that have had success in the Conformation ring, Scent work and Trick Dog titles.

Frida is our special girl also from Russia. She made it to 2 shows before joining us winning Best of Breed Baby Puppy and Best in Show Baby Puppy! Since arriving in Canada she has completed her Canadian Championship and grown up a ton, She's a total sweetheart and we can't wait for what the future hold for her with Westdach.

CHETCOTE CATCH ME RUNNIN TO WESTDACH "SNEAKERS"
Sneakers came to us from a lovely show breeder in Ontario and we are so excited to get her into the Baby Puppy classes in January 2023. She is such a pretty pupper, very sweet and playful and has the best smile! We can't wait to see how her future unfolds for Westdach.

Bunny is the matriarch of our program, she is a gorgeous chocolate and tan dapple. Bunny holds a NTD Novice Trick Dog title, She loves to play with her toys and cuddle on the couch when she's not raising beautiful puppies for loving homes. CKC registered. PRA testing complete. OFA Patellas normal.
Bunny has been RETIRED from the program.

Our puppies are so much more to us than one realizes after we've spent 8-10 weeks with them - they’re family. We breed responsibly and pay special attention to minimizing the known hereditary diseases by having all our parent animals genetically health tested.
